About

Caroline Guske is a vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, music producer, and arranger based in New Jersey. She graduated from the Berklee College of Music on a merit scholarship with concentrations in songwriting, recording & production, and business. She has been performing and writing songs for over a decade and has self-released one album and four EPs.

To help with her writing, Caroline began learning the piano in the 6th grade. She began performing her music in local venues in her hometown of Lynchburg, VA, and surrounding areas while she was in high school. Towards the end of her high school career, she had also started recording demos and background vocals for artists at a local studio called Fainting Goat. It was at this studio where she recorded her first EP, “Stubborn Mind.”

Caroline has performed with the Virginia Honors Choir, the Virginia All-State Choir, and she attended the Virginia Governor's School Program for Performing Arts at Radford University. Due to her musical achievements, she was awarded the Smith Mountain Lake Harmeneers Scholarship for vocal performance and the Honors GradU Multimedia Scholarship in the songwriting category.

While at Berklee, Caroline sang in many student-run choirs, including PXL8 Video Game A'Cappella, Point of Departure Vocal Jazz, and the Underground Choir. It was during this time she became more serious about arranging music, and some of her work has been performed by the PXL8 choir. Additionally, she sang backup vocals and played keys for various artists, including SKY, Elodie & The True North, and Reese Massey. This was also the place where Caroline honed her production skills, leading her to produce her own songs as well as music for other artists, including Rowan Clark.

In April 2020, she released her first self-produced EP, "Under the Ice," and in October of the same year, released her first full length album, "Caro-Live!". Her music has landed her interviews with the Boston Voyager, the Berklee Internet Radio Network, and the National Broadcasting Society at Emerson College. She has also had her music played on various radio stations throughout the Northeast.

After graduating at the height of the pandemic in 2020, Caroline moved to Richmond, Virginia. During this time, she became involved in the Richmond choral scene, singing in the Richmond Symphony Chorus, the parish choir  at Grace & Holy Trinity Church, and also leading their Compline Choir. It was at GHTC where she briefly worked as an audio/ visual engineer as well. She also taught voice and piano lessons and led the Virginia Choristers at the GreenSpring International Academy of Music. This led to an opportunity for her to teach a music production class at the Richmond Montessori School.

Since November 2022, Caroline has been battling a strange medical condition which caused brain damage and left her temporarily disabled. During this time, she started a blog to document her health journey and began writing an album about her experience. Having relocated to New Jersey, she is currently spending her recovery time creating music and developing professional skills in data analysis.

If there is anything Caroline has learned throughout her music journey, it is that there will always be opportunities to keep learning and evolving. While she may not always know where her journey is taking her, she anticipates the future, as one thing is certain: there will be music.
